  • Clothing: A swimsuit, light clothing for after-water activities
  • Sun protection: Reef-safe sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and polarized sunglasses
  • Footwear: Hiking sandals or shoes, or water shoes or sandals for walking on the beach
  • Other equipment: Dry bags, wet wipes
  • Personal items: towel and cash
  • Snacks and hydration: Extra water and snacks to tide you over between meals
  • Hand sanitizer: clean the hand at lunch.

  • Do not get too close: Keep a safe distance from the Komodo dragons. Komodo dragons can be aggressive and move quickly.
  • Don’t shout or run: loud noises or sudden movements can startle the Komodo dragon and trigger an aggressive reaction.
  • Please don’t feed: Feeding Komodo dragons can habituate them to humans and may cause them to become aggressive.
  • Don’t climb trees: Komodo dragons may chase you
  • Don’t make sudden movements: Sudden movements can startle dragons and trigger an aggressive reaction.
  • Don’t touch dragons: on land or in the sea.
  • Do not stay alone: always stay with a tour guide, and do not go alone in the Komodo dragon area.
  • Menstruating women must report: You must report to the guide or attendant for special supervision.
  • Do not wear red-colored clothing: Komodo dragons have a high sensitivity to the color red.
  • Avoid making loud noises: Komodo dragons can become aggressive

  • A 50% charge applies for cancellations within 5 days

Tips for snorkeling on the Komodo one-day tour?

  • Bring your own mask & snorkel (better fit & hygiene)
  • Snorkel close to the shoreline for colorful coral and reef fish.
  • Use water shoes or fins—coral can be sharp
  • Be aware of jellyfish: they’re not common and can appear seasonally.
  • Never touch or step on coral, manta rays & turtles
  • Don’t chase fish—float and let them approach
  • Wear a rash guard for sun protection and comfort.
  • Enter water together
  • Use a life vest (totally normal); the current in Komodo is very strong
  • Don’t fight the current—float and signal

How to stay steady:

  1. Put fins on in the water, not on the boat.
  2. Hold the side of the boat & sliding in
  3. Use the ladder (ask the captain).
  4. Fix the snorkel on the left side
  5. Wet your mask with seawater first

Back to the boat safely:

  1. Remove fins in the water.
  2. Hand them to the crew.
  3. Climb slowly using both hands.
  4. Sit on the edge of the boat.
  5. Mask and snorkel held firmly on your face
  6. One hand on mask, one on back of head
  7. Roll backward into water
  8. Open the fins in the water
  9. Get the boat from the stair
  10. Don’t walk with fins in the boat.
