Who Can Join?

  • Anyone can join the shared Komodo tours—they’re public group tours where you pay per person and join other travelers. You don’t need to be part of a private group.
  • Solo travelers: Solo travelers are welcome on shared tours, and it’s common to meet other tourists on the boat.
  • Adults and children: Children can join, with a minimum age of 5 years or older (hiking and boat activities)

Regulation: See Komodo animals

  • Do not get too close: Keep a safe distance from the Komodo dragons. Komodo dragons can be aggressive and move quickly.
  • Don’t shout or run: loud noises or sudden movements can startle the Komodo dragon and trigger an aggressive reaction.
  • Please don’t feed: Feeding Komodo dragons can habituate them to humans and may cause them to become aggressive.
  • Don’t climb trees: Komodo dragons may chase you
  • Don’t touch marine life: sea turtles can damage their protective coating and leave them vulnerable to infection.
  • Don’t make sudden movements: Sudden movements can startle dragons and trigger an aggressive reaction.
  • Don’t touch dragons: on land or in the sea.
  • Do not stay alone: stay with a tour guide always, and do not go alone in the Komodo dragon area.
  • Menstruating women must report: You must report to the guide or attendant for special supervision.
  • Do not wear red-colored clothing: Komodo dragons have a high sensitivity to the color red.
  • Avoid making loud noises: Komodo dragons can become aggressive

Itinerary: Komodo 3-Day Trip

Day 01. Lunch and dinner on the boat

  • 09.00. Pickup at hotel or airport transfer to Labuan Bajo harbor
  • 09.30-10.30. The boat sails to Kelor Island for activities like swimming and hiking.
  • 12.00-12.30. The boat sails to Menjerite Island for snorkeling or swimming and lunch on the boat.
  • 15.30–16.30. Sail to Pempe Island for relaxing or swimming
  • 18.30 Sunset at Pempe Island, Kalong Island, and Rinca Bay. Overnight on the boat around Padar Island. Dinner on a boat.

Day 2: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner on the Boat

  • 06.00 Early morning hiking to Padar Island.
  • 08.00–08.45: breakfast, Rinca Island, see Komodo Dragon
  • 10.00-12.00. Komodo Island, see Komodo dragons, Lunch
  • 15.00-15.20. The boat sails to Pink Beach. Activities include snorkeling or swimming on the beach.
  • 17.00-17.20. The boat sails to Rinca Bay. Boat overnight on the Rinca bay

Day 3: Breakfast and Lunch on the Boat

  • 07.00-08.30. After breakfast, Boat sails to Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Activities relaxing and snorkeling
  • 10.30-11.00. The boat sails to Siaba island for snorkeling or swimming
  • 12.00 – 14.00. Lunch, kanawa, snorkeling, and relax
  • 15.00 – 16.30. The boat sail back to Labuan Bajo harbor
  • 17.00. Transfer to hotel or airport and end program.

Cancellation policy:

  • All payment refunds for cancellations made to 7 days up
  • A 50% charge applies for cancellations within 5 days
  • A full charge is applicable for cancellations within 48 hours.

Tips for snorkeling on the Komodo tour?

  • Bring your own mask & snorkel (better fit & hygiene)
  • Snorkel close to the shoreline for colorful coral and reef fish.
  • Use water shoes or fins—coral can be sharp
  • Be aware of jellyfish: they’re not common and can appear seasonally.
  • Never touch or step on coral, manta rays & turtles
  • Don’t chase fish—float and let them approach
  • Wear a rash guard for sun protection and comfort.
  • Enter water together
  • Use a life vest (totally normal); the current in Komodo is very strong
  • Don’t fight the current—float and signal

How to stay steady:

  1. Put fins on in the water, not on the boat.
  2. Hold the side of the boat & sliding in
  3. Use the ladder (ask the captain).
  4. Fix the snorkel on the left side
  5. Wet your mask with seawater first

Back to the boat safely:

  1. Remove fins in the water.
  2. Hand them to the crew.
  3. Climb slowly using both hands.
  4. Sit on the edge of the boat.
  5. Mask and snorkel held firmly on your face
  6. One hand on mask, one on back of head
  7. Roll backward into water
  8. Open the fins in the water
  9. Get the boat from the stair
  10. Don’t walk with fins in the boat.
